Culture often wants to define love as affection and affinity, which can be lost or revoked. God instructs us, and models for us, a differnet kind of love. A love that isn't based in or changed by emotion. The love of God is devotion, intention, and purposefulness. God is inviting us to trust in Him and to be devoted to the good of others.
