Shifting ordinary relationships
into authentic community
to live God’s adventure
together; fully alive!
We’re called “SHIFT” because we are “shifting our thinking” about this thing we call “Church.” We believe the Bible shows us how relational Jesus was and how the Church was (and still it today) built around the “One Another.” So, we are “SHIFTing everyday relationships into authentic community to live God’s adventure together; fully alive!”
We are a Christian Church here in the heart of Belgrade, MT. We gather in “the Big White Steeple” on Broadway, south of downtown with the lit up bell tower.
Adventure requires Risk, Challenge, Uncertainty, and Reward.
For us, relationships leading to personal spiritual transformation are a great adventure! It’s what gets us out of bed in the morning! Transformation through relationships with God and one another are the great adventure we get to live everyday! Will you say YES to God’s Adventure?
Check out our Vision (our “WHY”) and how we live out our relationally-driven plan for personal spiritual transformation!
We have a parking along the side of the building with more parking in the back. Pull into the drive way from Broadway or into the entrances on W. Missoula Ave or S. Weaver St.
Visiting a church gathering for the first time, whether you've gone to church before or not, can feel uneasy or intimidating, so we provide an opportunity to “PLAN YOUR VISIT” where we have a volunteer who will greet you in our Visitor Parking, show you around, get ya some coffee, and even save you seats! Or you can totally feel free to just show up on a Sunday unannounced, we’d love to meet you!
Here's what else you can expect about your first experience with us…
Our service begins at 9:00a Sunday Mornings. Feel free to come early, we have a beverage bar (brewed Rowan Coffee, Tea, Cider, Hot Chocolate) before our gathering time starts. During the gathering we'll sing some songs - usually modern/contemporary in style. Our pastor (or guest speaker) will teach from the Bible giving historical context, what it is telling us, equipping us for life and ministry, and explaining the fullness of the gospel of grace for all to grasp and live. We take communion each week to remember/memorialize the gospel of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ (“proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes” ~ 1 Cor. 11:26).
We don't say "casual" or give any such definitions of what that means. Jesus wore the common clothing of His day; so feel free to wear whatever is comfortable for you…we just ask you to wear clothes.
SHIFT church is a safe place to come for people who are unsure about or even against the belief in God, Jesus, the Bible, the assertions of the Church, or for those who have had a bad experience with "church" and/or those in churches. We understand people are coming from a variety of backgrounds and experiences with God and the Church, but you are welcomed and loved here. Please feel free to ask questions and be honest with your struggles or apprehensions.
Tap your phone on one of the table top cards and say YES to the Adventure, and sign up to attend an @Group. These groups are about living life together, sharing life, and growing in authentic community. Open your mind and SHIFT the way you think about church.
For kids 3rd Grade and younger, we have children’s workers and volunteers who come and spend time in our SHIFT kids area downstairs so that you can come and be present during our gathering time. Kids will come into worship and sit with you, then our volunteer(s) will bring them downstairs together and remain downstairs until you go to pick them up after the gathering is concluded. Feel free to spend time meeting and talking, get a refill of coffee, but don’t forget to get your kiddos!
Kids 4th Grade and up will stay upstairs and we have some creative notes sheets for kids on the table next to the entry doors that your kids (and you) can pick up to take notes during the message.
